Canon Digital Cameras in India

Canon cameras began its journey in the year 1933, when its predecessor, Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory, was founded in Tokyo. This was followed by a series of remarkable inventions and in 1947 the company became Canon Camera Co., Inc.

The earliest Canon cameras derived much from the design of the Leica thread mount rangefinder cameras. However, concerns about patents, as well as ignorance of the precise specification of the Leica thread mount, kept these earliest Canon cameras distinctive.

Canon DC Series

The Canon DC series are feature packed, family friendly and amazingly affordable line of camcorder models. The Canon DC series camcorders offer the convenience of viewing and sharing DVD discs, or bringing distant subjects and scenes up close and personal. They combine the convenience, versatility, and broad compatibility of DVD recording and playbacks with the dramatic reach of genuine Canon 35x optical zoom lens.

Canon EOS Series

Canon FS Series

The FS-series canon cameras are small, stylish, and provide a reasonably expansive feature set. The individual models in the FS series differ only by memory and color, with list prices that increment by $100.

Weighing only 10.7 ounces and fitting comfortably into the palm of a hand, the FS series is, for the most part, quite well designed. With the FS series, Canon camera debuts its Advanced Zoom Technology, which transforms the camera's 37x optical zoom into 48x. It does so by moving lens elements to change the area of the sensor focused on by the lens. As a result, the effective video resolution changes while the user zoom.

Canon HF Series

The New Dual Flash Memory HF-series Canon camcorders have great memory capacity and usability in both high and standard definitions. This line of camcorders has the advantages of flash memory-sleek and compact, lightweight, durable, fast start-up, super silent and low power consumption.

In addition, the models in this series come with a built-in flash memory, as well as a slot for removable flash memory SD card, which easily expand recording time. Canon HF camcorder series also feature Image Stabilizer that helps to minimize shakes and keep video footages steady.

The flash memory camcorders are ultra compact - fusing miniaturization and design with higher levels of durability, flexibility and capacity. Canon HV Series

It records into MiniDV cassettes (DV, HDV formats) and has an SD card slot for taking still photos. They even tape for more than 50 minutes on the standard battery pack, with heavier but higher-capacity (up to two hours' recording) batteries coming down the pipe.

HV series Canon camcorders have telephoto and wide-angle lens kits available. Other cool features include built-in optical image stabilization (OIS) combines gyro and image-sensors to give image stabilization through a wide range of camera motions.

Canon IXUS Series

The Canon Digital IXUS series, based on the design of Canon's IXUS / IXY / ELPH line of APS cameras, is a line of ultra compact cameras. Thecameras have high mega pixel resolution and come with the 3x optical zoom, DIGIC III image processors and the Face detection technology.

Other features include a dust, scratch and finger print resistant LCD screen, convenient touch wheel for easy photo capture, a resolution capability of printing A3 size images and an in-built slide show with entertaining effects.

All the models in Canon Digital IXUS series use lithium ion batteries of Canon proprietary design, though third-party equivalents are readily available. Another common feature found in all the models is the use RGBG Bayer filter (except the original Digital IXUS) CCD sensors made by Sony. Images are recorded as JPEGs. Raw image files are not accessible without the use of third party firmware.

Canon MD Series

Each MD-series camcorder offers true widescreen recording, easy and intuitive operation, and the advantage of Canon's quick start feature. The Canon MD series caters for a wide variety of needs - from mega pixel CCD recording to camcorders that feature a microphone input connection.

With a Canon 45x advanced zoom and microphone input connection, the latest camcorders in the series are versatile mega pixel camcorders. The user can capture panoramic true widescreen images in brilliant color thanks to DIGIC DV.

Canon MV Series

The MV series Canon camcorders are user friendly gadgets that are designed with an aim to make quality results an easy experience. The first step toward immediate, hassle free enjoyment straight out of the box is the large Easy button, which puts all camcorder settings into full auto mode with the flick of a switch.

The camcorders feature serious optical zoom ratios, from 20x for the MV800 to 22x (440x combined) for the MV850i, MV830i and MV830.
